System Requirements
The AdvantageData Security Plug-in is used to authenticate users to Advantage Data, employing two-factor authentication in conjunction with the user’s username and password. The Advantage Data Security Plug-in must be downloaded and installed to access Advantage Data. (typically with Administrative privileges)
Installation Instructions
STEP 1: Download the installation .zip file below. Un-zip the downloaded file and run the enclosed AdvantageDataSecurityPlugin.2.0.msi file.
STEP 2:
For Chrome, enter chrome://extensions/ into the address bar and enable “Advantage Data Security Plugin”. If you do not see the extension, please navigate to the Google Chrome Store link below and click “Add to Chrome” to add it to your browser.
For Edge, enter edge://extensions/ into the address bar and enable “Advantage Data Security Plugin”. If you do not see the extension, please navigate to the following Microsoft Edge Store link below and click the blue “Get” button to add it to your browser.

Note: If “Advantage Data Security Plugin” does not appear on your extensions list, please visit the Edge Extension Store or Chrome Web Store to install Step 2 manually. Please email helpdesk@solvefixedincome.com for any assistance.

For IT Departments
- Download the installer by clicking the following link:
- Locate and Run the downloaded file: AdvantageDataSecurityPlugin.2.0.zip
- Hint: key combination = CTRL + J
- If you are logged in as the end-user, run the file: AdvantageDataSecurityPlugin.2.0.msi
- In the plugin setup wizard, select ‘Next’ until you see the ‘Finish’ button.
- Once you complete the setup wizard, you must completely restart all web browsers completely. In some cases, you may be required to restart your PC.
- Chrome and Edge Users:
- Upon opening Chrome or Edge, you should be prompted to add the Advantage Data extension. Select ‘Enable extension’.
- In Chrome, navigate to “chrome://extensions/” or in Edge, navigate to “edge://extensions/”. Verify that “Advantage Data Security Plugin” is listed and set to ‘enabled’.
- Otherwise, if the extensions are not installed, navigate to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/advantage-data-security-p/fbjjfkcpcnhdaohopffafdeeofghgbhj for Chrome and select “Add” or https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/advantage-data-security-p/cdlbheiemlmnpaccfiopplkjgefgkfak for Edge and select “Get”.
- ** For IT systems that deploy a Virtual Machine (Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V, Zen, etc) environment, make sure to take a new ‘snapshot’ of the end-users’ workstation image to ensure that the Advantage Data Security Plugin remains on the system.
- Upon opening Chrome or Edge, you should be prompted to add the Advantage Data extension. Select ‘Enable extension’.
MANUAL IT INSTRUCTIONS:
- Download the IT installer package by clicking the following link:
- Locate and extract the downloaded file AdvantageDataSecurityPlugin.2.0.zip to a static, local, end-user accessible location. *remember the folder location/structure.
- Hint: key combination = CTRL + J
- Bring up a non-elevated command prompt (as the end-user) and run:
- regsvr32.exe C:\\npAdvantageDataSecurityPlugin.dll
- Chrome and Edge Users:
- In addition to steps 1-3, in the extracted installation files folder, navigate to the Chrome folder and run the file: nmh-register.bat with sufficient administrative rights.
- Navigate to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/advantage-data-security-p/fbjjfkcpcnhdaohopffafdeeofghgbhj for Chrome and select “Add” or https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/advantage-data-security-p/cdlbheiemlmnpaccfiopplkjgefgkfak for Edge and select “Get”.
- In Chrome or Edge, navigate to “chrome://extensions/” and verify “Advantage Data Security Plugin” is listed and set to ‘enabled’.
- You must completely restart all web browsers. In some cases, you may be required to restart your PC.
- Upon opening Chrome or Edge, you should be prompted to add the Advantage Data extension. Select ‘Enable extension’. Select ‘Enable extension’. If not, please perform step 6 & 7 again.

In most cases, the Virtual Machine (Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V, Zen, etc) workstation that you are on is maintained by your IT team. It is most likely that the Advantage Data Security Plug-in is being removed on a schedule. To resolve this and minimize any downtime, please have your IT team install the Advantage Data Security Plug-in and create a new ‘snapshot’.
